Jim Cantore Biography
Jim Cantore (Born: James D. Cantore) is a popular American-certified broadcast meteorologist for The Weather Channel. For over three decades, he has been one of the most adored and famous meteorologists. In 1986 Jim became part of The Weather Channel.
He also anchors and predicts the nation’s weather daily and helps create documentaries on meteorology, predictions, and historic storms. Jim holds the AMS Television Seal of Approval and in 2003 won both the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration David S. Johnson Award. In February 2013, he was inducted into the Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center Hall of Fame.
Besides live coverage for TWC, he also works as the narrator on the TWC series Storm Stories. Jim also narrates Local On The 8s (apart from the national version). During NBCUniversal’s ownership of TWC from 2008 until 2018, Jim also occasionally filled in for Al Roker on The Today Show. In the 2012 Summer Olympics, he was in London covering weather segments for NBC.
